What is research?
Research is at the heart of what we do. Put simply, researchers are responsible for identifying and developing the candidates we work with. It is fast paced project based work, done primarily through direct contact with potential candidates and sources via the telephone, supported by our database, the internet and various industry publications. Researchers also support wider business development activities through maintaining a broad, sector oriented knowledge base.
Why are we different?
Unlike many other search firms all our researchers work across sectors and with all members of the consulting team – which means variety. We can find ourselves searching for a regional CEO for a FTSE top 10 one week, and the director of a national museum the next. Researchers in other firms also typically work on several projects at a time - we prefer focus. We work on one project at a time, doing upto 3 weeks of intense research. We feel it allows us to really get to know a particular market and finish feeling like we have comprehensively mapped that particular universe.
Types of people
Alongside being highly intelligent and well presented, our researchers have a natural curiosity – they are people who enjoy learning about the world. We are knowledge detectives, picking up market information, trends and industry jargon. We need to be able to build a natural rapport with people, be sensitive to those subtle nuances in conversation, and convey complex ideas simply and succinctly. Researchers are in some ways like a tenacious bunch of truffle hounds – seeking out the rarest and best people around the globe.
Our team
Our team is hugely diverse in terms of age and experience, from graduates to career researchers who have been in the business for over two decades, and we welcome people from all walks of life. We work in a firmly team based, supportive and fun environment. Our Project coordinators ensure seamless management of every stage of an assignment. They build a close relationship with our clients and candidates from the initial stages of a search process right through to the End Game. We are looking for individuals with confident communication skills and, the ability to take the initiative.
