Closing Date Wednesday 19 Feb 2020

Closing Date: Noon on Wednesday 19 February
The Royal Statistical Society (RSS) is an influential membership body with a vision of a world with data at the heart of understanding and decision-making. We have over 6,000 fellows around the world. We influence national policy and work closely with a range of stakeholders including the scientific and research community, policymakers and business. The RSS is a charity set up by Royal Charter and governed by a Council of around 30 fellows. The ubiquity of data, combined with new technologies, means greater public and political interest in data and statistics, but also generates fear around potential negative impacts. The RSS plays a leading role in ensuring the public understand the power of data and statistics.
The RSS is now looking for a Chief Executive who can thrive in a small organisation with a hands-on approach and be a dynamic and communicative leader. Candidates should possess a track record of strategic leadership and managing complex stakeholders. A strong affinity with the RSS’s mission is critical as are excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be an ambassador. Candidates could come from a wide range of backgrounds including civil society, business, research, government or in another membership-based organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an organisation whose vision is to strengthen the impact of data and statistics for the public good.
