The Royal Academy of Dance
Director of Group Services
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is a world leader in dance education and training, dedicated to inspiring the world of dance. Founded in 1920, the RAD sets global standards in teaching and learning, with a network of over 12,000 members, 250,000 exam candidates annually, and students and teachers in over 80 countries. Alongside its internationally recognised training and examination programmes, the RAD delivers impactful social initiatives – such as Silver Swans, Step into dance, and RADiate – using dance to enrich lives and transform communities. With a new global headquarters in Battersea and the appointment of Elizabeth Honer earlier this year as Chief Executive Officer, the RAD is moving forward with an ambitious strategy of change and development, modernising its operations, expanding its reach, and securing long-term sustainability.
The RAD is now seeking a Director of Group Services who will play a key role in ensuring the RAD continues to thrive as it moves into this next chapter. This is a newly designed role that will lead on strategic finance, people, technology and IT, facilities, and programme delivery across the RAD’s UK and international footprint. Reporting to the CEO, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that the RAD’s core structure and corporate services are efficient, future-focused, and aligned with its charitable mission and global ambition. This is a broad leadership role with strategic financial planning and transformation at its core, strengthening operations, modernising systems, and realising the full potential of the cultural, commercial, educational and community-facing offer of the Academy.
The successful candidate will have senior leadership experience across finance and corporate services. They will bring a strong track record of strategic financial planning and transformation, with an enthusiasm for the potential of technology and innovation. They will be values-driven, collaborative, and committed to supporting a creative, mission-led organisation through a dynamic period of global development.
