The work of our academics has been recognised as world-leading or internationally excellent in terms of its originality, significance and rigour. The results of REF 2021 show that the overall quality of research at Aberystwyth has risen since the last assessment, with 98% of all our research activity being of an internationally recognised standard or higher, within all UoAs submitted.  We are also investing heavily in our research profile and activity through several initiatives, including the newly opened innovation and enterprise campus, AberInnovation, which offers world-leading facilities and expertise within the biotechnology, agri-tech and food and drink sectors.

We are seeking to appoint a Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation who will lead the strategic development and operational delivery across research, knowledge exchange and innovation.  High calibre candidates will bring evidence of strategic leadership across research and KE, alongside motivational people management and team building skills. An analytic thinker, candidates will also be internationally recognised within their field of research. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite given the influential nature of the role, and its position on Aberystwyth University’s executive team.
