Artichoke Trust

Development Director

Job Reference EAPAXA
Closing Date Sunday 04 Jul 2021

Artichoke Trust is a registered charity responsible for commissioning and producing some of the most celebrated outdoor art experiences in recent times. From its extraordinarily successful first show, Royal de Luxe’s The Sultan’s Elephant in 2006, to Lumiere, the UK’s leading light festival, the company has worked with the most imaginative artists to realise their wildest dreams and create shared audience experiences that stay in the memory long after the events themselves are over. Each Artichoke production exists in a unique, unforgettable moment in time. They are spectacular – large-scale unprecedented shows with the highest production values, that delight and dazzle in equal measure. The world rarely feels the same after Artichoke has invaded the public realm.

Artichoke is now seeking candidates to join the team in the critical role of Development Director, following Sarah Coop’s decision to stand down after a 15-year tenure. This is a key leadership position within the organisation, reporting to the CEO/Artistic Director and leading a team to raise the funds required so Artichoke can deliver its extraordinary productions. Artichoke is not a traditional arts organisation and the post-holder will be joining an agile and fast-moving work environment. Candidates will bring a tangible track record of leading fundraising activities at the highest level. They will be an inspiring people manager, a natural relationship builder and able to contribute to the wider strategy of the organisation. Candidates should be passionate about the arts and the impact that Artichoke’s distinctive mission can deliver.
