Following an internal promotion, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will play a pivotal role in achieving the Trust’s ambition of being one of the safest healthcare systems in the country.

Working closely with the Trust Board, Executive Team and Clinical Teams, the post-holder will provide strong operational leadership, with the vision to drive continuous quality improvement. They will ensure that effective governance and compliance with all regulatory body requirements are embedded within clinical and operational management.  In conjunction with external partners and key stakeholders, the post holder will lead the transformation of services to provide a high quality, sustainable, service fit for the future.

The successful candidate will be a highly capable operational and strategic leader, with a strong track record of successful improvement and change most likely built in an NHS Trust. They will be a team, patient and values centric person with the ability to contribute broadly to the Trust’s strategy. They will be a visible Director who enables others to perform to their highest potential. They will be comfortable with executives and non-executives alike, capable of forging consensus around innovative approaches to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
