Closing Date Monday 06 Jun 2022

Citizens Advice exists to help people find a way forward, whoever they are, whatever their problem.

No one else sees so many people with so many different kinds of problems, and that gives us a unique insight into the challenges people are facing today, the current cost of living crisis is just the most recent challenge and we have record numbers of people right now describing their problems as urgent.

We are made up of the national charity and our network of 259 independent local Citizens Advice charities across England and Wales who offer confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. Last year, our income reached £163m. Our role as the national charity is to enable and empower the whole service by leveraging our scale, incentives and positioning for the benefit of our clients. We support advice delivery throughout England and Wales via tools, content, platforms, membership services and partnerships; use insights to influence and solve systemic social and economic problems through our advocacy; deliver advice directly to citizens and enable advice delivery across the whole service by securing sustainable and diverse funding.

This is an exciting time to join Citizens Advice. We have embarked on development of a new strategy for the Citizens Advice service across England and Wales, taking a dialogue-based approach. The Executive Director of Strategy and Transformation is a brand new role, and they will have a pivotal part to play in informing and transforming what we do and how we do it. One of the first priorities is to build a new directorate which will deliver excellence in strategy, delivering transformation, effective governance and data and impact. Some of these teams already exist, but other elements are new, creating an exciting opportunity for this person to use their vision and supportive leadership in developing important steps forward for the organisation.

We are looking for a leader who is engaged, adaptable and dynamic, and who lives our values and is passionate about the work we do, committed to innovating and developing this complex organisation to ultimately allow us to support more people in need.

In light of the vast range of communities and individuals that Citizens Advice is proud to support, and our diverse colleagues and volunteers, we are committed to building an Executive Team that reflects this, and is committed to creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive service and culture. We actively and warmly encourage applications therefore from a broad and deep range of backgrounds and experiences.
