We are working with an Oxbridge College which is looking to appoint their first Head of Communications. This is a strategic role which lies at the heart of the College’s plans for the future. The appointed candidate will make a real and sustained difference to the success of the institution, and will be involved with every aspect of the College’s wide range of activities. The Head of Communications will help to represent the College externally – in particular, promoting through digital content, social media, printed materials and press releases, and by ensuring consistent and effective messaging – and internally in supporting engagement of the College communities of students, staff, alumni and emeriti.

Candidates should be senior communications professionals with expertise in strategic and tactical communications across a wide range of media, including social media. They will be able to demonstrate considerable interest in the purposes and benefits of higher education and a commitment to widening access and participation. Applicants will need to be strategic thinkers with a strong news sense, an extensive understanding of social and digital media, a keen eye for a story, and excellent writing, editing and design skills. While candidates should have knowledge and experience of current issues, priorities and good practice in communications, media engagement and public relations, prior knowledge of higher education is not required. This role will be based at the College and remuneration will be commensurate with the experience of the appointed candidate.
