Cycling UK’s vision is of a healthier, happier and cleaner world, because more people cycle.
Previously known as the Cyclists’ Touring Club, Cycling UK has championed the cause of cycling for more than 140 years. We promote all forms of cycling, protect the interests of existing and would-be cyclists, and inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to discover the joys of cycling. As an independent, democratic and expert organisation, our activities reflect the commitment of our members, volunteers and partners to make cycling mainstream, making a lasting difference to the lives of individuals and communities.
We are looking to appoint an exceptional CEO who has the ambition and drive to deliver the organisation’s strategy and achieve our mission – enable millions more people to cycle. The successful candidate may come from a range of backgrounds, but will have experience of leading an organisation at board level and will bring a strong track record of leadership, people management and building and nurturing multi-disciplinary teams.
This person will be an outstanding leader who can make a wide-ranging and significant impact across the full spectrum of our work, with the ability to engage and galvanise our staff, members, supporters and partners. An excellent communicator and ambassador, you will have credibility and influence with senior stakeholders across government, business and civil society and you will be passionate about championing Cycling UK’s mission and what we are trying to achieve.
Cycling UK recognises the enormous benefits of a diverse organisation and actively and warmly encourages applications from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
