Having already invested £450m in its Bay Campus, the University is looking to continue investing in capital development and, within this context, seeks to appoint a new Director of Estates. The Director of Estates will play a pivitol role in delivering Swansea University’s ambition, of a sustainable top 30 position in UK rankings, by shaping and developing the University’s physical environment. This is the opportunity to join a dynamic institution, with the vision and resources to deliver a compelling estates project into which this person will have substantial strategic input. Reporting to the Registrar & COO, this person will work closely with key external stakeholders and be a champion for the University’s estates and facilities agenda.
The successful candidate will bring strong influencing and leadership skills, scale and the sophistication of approach and seniority necessary for a role of this breadth. Significant experience in estates and facilities, combined with successful track record of management and delivery, is a prerequisite. The appointee will have a background of high-level responsibility for the built environment and an in-depth knowledge of current regulations. The University wishes to deliver best-in-class facilities for its students and make a positive contribution to the city, meaning this person will be expected to be ambitious about what they can achieve and motivated to deliver outstanding work.
