The Government Digital Service (GDS) is at the heart of the Cabinet Office, leading the digital transformation of the UK Government, with digital identity at the heart of what is possible for the future. With the creation of a new Digital Identity Unit (DIU) within Government, this is an exciting time to join an organisation that is ambitious about the future of digital identity for the UK.
The Deputy Director for Digital Identity will be involved in a range of stimulating activities that will deliver digital identity policy, implementation and coordination across sectors. The new DIU will help bring the public and private sector together to ensure the adoption of interoperable standards, specifications and schemes, giving the Deputy Director two main areas of focus: working in DIU concentrating on the strategic aspects of digital identity for the UK economy; and running the technology and commercial frameworks to support digital identity across sectors.
The successful candidate will bring experience delivering innovative and cutting-edge solutions, obtained in digital technology settings. You will be able to run all aspects of a successful operation at multiple levels, able to lead and manage teams in fast-paced environments. A positive self-starter, you will bring excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with ambiguity and with a range of stakeholders across sectors. Technical experience of digital identity is desirable but not essential, as is experience of operating at the intersection of Government the private sector.
