Herts for Learning (HfL) is the largest school company in the UK dedicated to improving education for young people. HfL provides a broad range of education and business services, which support schools and educational settings in delivering improved outcomes for children. Working with over 99% of Hertfordshire schools and a further 2,500 schools and settings around the country, they provide training, support and challenge to staff and governors at all levels. HfL operates as a not-for-profit social enterprise and is majority owned by Hertfordshire schools.

This is an extraordinarily exciting time to be joining HfL. Following a major strategic review, HfL is now seeking to appoint an Operations and Technology Director who will sit within the newly formed Executive Team and drive the operational effectiveness of the organisation. This new role will see the appointed candidate working closely with all members of the executive team, ensuring that HfL has the customer service ethos, the operational discipline and the technology expertise it requires to drive quality and value for customers, as well as continue to develop operational processes to meet the changing needs of the business. A key focus will be harnessing digital technology in accelerating HfL’s push to provide outstanding business and education services at a national level.

The successful candidate will bring operational discipline with a commitment to the highest possible standard of customer service and will have experience of cultural and transformational change. HfL is seeking applicants with strong leadership experience, bringing together the ability to raise performance and effectiveness, while forging strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. Experience of end-to-end process analysis and Cloud Software as a Service management will be required.
