Director of Strategy and Change

Job Reference QETH
Closing Date Thursday 28 May 2020

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) was created in 2009 as the independent body which regulates and administers MPs’ pay, pensions, business costs and expenses. A small organisation of around 70 employees, IPSA has a significant responsibility for a budget of £227m and ensuring transparency and fairness in the way MPs are remunerated and reimbursed for their business costs and expenses. It also provides MPs with a range of support services including training and guidance on the use of the online business costs and payroll system. Its goal is for MPs to have high-quality, responsive support, within a strong and user-friendly regulatory framework.
IPSA is now looking for an outstanding individual to join its senior management team as the Director of Strategy and Change, for a fixed term of up to 18 months. This is a new role that will provide capacity in the senior team to deliver change and improvement and develop a new strategy to take the organisation to 2024. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Board this person will lead a small team working across the entire organisation, with a focus on digital change and improving customer service.
Candidates should bring a track record of operating at a senior level within customer-focused, service providing organisations successfully delivering excellent user experience, particularly through digital channels. The ability to think strategically and work across an organisation to deliver change is critical, as is a commitment to the values of IPSA.
