The global COVID-19 pandemic has heightened public appreciation of this issue and presents a real opportunity for us to make a step-change in our impact.

We are seeking an ambitious new Chief Fundraising, Communications and Marketing Officer to join Marie Curie and contribute towards key decision making and strategic aspirations as part of the Executive Team. You will drive the repositioning of Marie Curie as the leader in end of life experience. You will lead a team of circa 850 people across the UK, and a remit encompassing fundraising, brand, integrated marketing and communications, digital communications and websites, media and PR, and retail functions. This critical role will be responsible for ensuring sustainable growth in our fundraising and retail income, driving innovation and diversifying activity in a challenging market as a component of Marie Curie delivering its impact strategy.

This is a vital leadership role within Marie Curie, and we are keen to find credible candidates with a track record of driving success, who can bring considerable understanding of working at Executive Team level. You will bring demonstrable experience of commercial awareness and working at a similar scale or profile to Marie Curie, and an in-depth knowledge of fundraising, brand and communications strategy development and implementation. Understanding of leadership and management principles in a charitable setting will be key.

This will be an inspirational leader, who brings gravitas and compelling communication skills, both internally and externally, and a collaborative approach to team management. You will empower those around you, whilst also bringing an adaptable mindset, excellent judgement skills and the ability to respond quickly and decisively when needed. Importantly, you will bring a genuine commitment to and interest in the work of Marie Curie.
