4 x Non-Executive Directors

Job Reference JAGADC
Closing Date Monday 03 Aug 2020

Metropolitan Thames Valley (MTVH) is a £460m ‘business for social purpose’ and an organisation founded to stand against injustice and provide a base for the people who make Britain what it is today. The energy and spirit embedded in our history continues to drive our work.
A member of the G15 group of London’s largest housing associations, MTVH is one of the biggest social landlords in the country with over 57,000 homes. It is a mould-breaking and large-scale developer of modern new homes for, affordable rent, shared-ownership, market rent and sale, and a provider of essential care and support services to residents across London, the South East, the East Midlands and the East of England.
MTVH is an active and engaged part of the wider social housing sector. Housing associations are a large and critical part of the UK’s economy and infrastructure, and a key partner to government in addressing the country’s urgent housing crisis. With the government now talking about the post-pandemic landscape and ‘build, build, build’, MTVH is working with partners and colleagues across the sector to call on government to put #homesattheheart of the country’s recovery, and make a once in a lifetime investment in social housing in order to boost the economy, create jobs and improve people’s lives when our nation needs it most.
This will be an exciting and challenging time to join the MTVH board. We are looking forward to welcoming four new people this year as four of our valued current members complete their maximum terms of service. We are looking for people with expertise in four particular areas – finance, treasury, property maintenance/safety or commercial law – who will bring professional excellence, rigour, and challenge to the board, as well as passion for the work we do. Ours is a committed, collaborative, respectful and sociable board, and we would be delighted if you would consider joining us. Previous non-executive experience is not an essential requirement and we put time and resources into developing all our board members so that they feel equipped to contribute fully.
We are proud to be signatories of the G15 group’s public pledge to increase and promote diversity at all levels in our organisation. We warmly welcome applications from people from the widest possible range of backgrounds.
Our Non-Executives Director are currently paid £12,500 per annum for a variable time commitment, averaging 1-2 days per month.
