MHA is a charity providing care, accommodation and support services for older people throughout Britain.  MHA is one of the most well respected care providers in the sector and amongst the largest charities in Britain, providing services to older people for 75 years.  With income of over £228m per year, we provide residential care, retirement communities and community schemes to over 18,000 older people.  We work with over 7,000 dedicated staff, enhanced by the commitment of 5,500 volunteers. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for older people, inspired by Christian concern.

We now seek to appoint a new Chair of Audit to play an important part in ensuring governance and best practice across the whole organisation. The successful candidate will bring excellent financial acumen and will have an enquiring mind with the ability to offer constructive challenge and advise MHA on all audit and financial reporting matters. They will demonstrate a collegial and problem solving approach to the role, with a focus on facilitating good decision making in support of the executive team. Candidates will also have proven board level experience in a complex organisation and be sympathetic to MHA’s distinctive Christian heritage.  Operational experience which is relevant to our work would be an advantage.
