The Trust is seeking to appoint a General Manager to lead the Ayrshire & Arran portfolio, which consists of some of the Trust’s most iconic heritage sites; Brodick Castle and Culzean Castle. The role of the General Manager is the strategic and operational leadership of the Ayrshire & Arran portfolio and to ensure that through its volunteers and staff it continually delivers on its conservation, visitor and financial objectives.
This is a senior opportunity, which carries weight in the organisation, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The new General Manager will bring a strong combination of commercial and technical skills. They will be a resilient, self-confident, commercial and politically-savvy leader. They will bring a track record of working in a complex and services orientated operational environment. H/she will have great stakeholder management skills. They will understand how to leverage relationships to create value, notably the continuous invention and re-invention of cultural experiences. A personal value set which resonates with that of the Trust and the ability to see heritage in the wider context of cultural experiences will be invaluable.
