Nominet is at a really exciting point of change. We are focused on delivering strong operational performance, building trust and engagement with our members, and creating a lasting impact through our community benefit programmes.

We are now seeking to appoint a General Counsel and Company Secretary. The GC and Co Sec will lead the provision of legal and corporate governance guidance and advise the Executive Team and Board on all legal advice and services, ensuring they align with Nominet’s vision, mission and purpose. As a key advisor to the Chair, CEO and CFO on governance and legal strategy, the GC and Co Sec will be a key contributor to the wider extended leadership team across the business.

Candidates will be practising solicitors or barristers, ideally with some prior experience of providing corporate governance advice. They will bring a deep understanding of the IP/IT Data Protection, competition and dispute resolution space and have a broader interest in the internet / tech industry. The GC and Co Sec will be required to represent Nominet in a legal capacity on external bodies and with international fora and stakeholder communities such as ICANN and CENTR, and support Nominet’s profile through conferences, forums, and media contributions. Candidates will be experienced at working with a Board and be exceptional and proven leaders, who will inspire the legal and co sec teams and drive high performance standards across the organisation.
