North West London Integrated Care System

Designate Independent Non-Executive Members - NWL ICB

Job Reference AASAKB
Closing Date Monday 07 Feb 2022

Working across a large and diverse population, North West London Integrated Care System’s ambition is to significantly improve the health and life expectancy of the 2.4 million people living and working in the eight London boroughs within North West London and to reduce inequalities in health and ensure high quality, efficient care delivery. If this role aligns to your values, skills and experience, we want to hear from you.

North West London ICB is looking for non-executive members to play a role on the new Integrated Care Board, working closely with the designate Chair, Penny Dash. One of these will chair the Audit and Risk Committee, with relevant experience to ensure robust internal control systems are in place and effective. Another will chair the Quality and Performance Committee, with a focus on ensuring consistently strong user experience. All candidates will bring an understanding of how to operate effectively at a senior strategic level within large and complex organisations alongside a passion for, and diversity of thought around, innovative ways to make a positive difference to the health and life outcomes of the population of North West London. All candidates will bring a demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to the wider values and beliefs for which North West London ICS stands. These roles are remunerated and will require a minimum of 2-3 days a month, including preparation time.

The ICS is looking for diverse, inclusive and compassionate leaders who have the leadership style and breadth of perspective to make good collective decisions. North West London, in particular, covers one of the most ethnically diverse parts of the country. We encourage applications from groups we know are all under-represented in these important roles. Applicants should also have strong connections with the area served by the ICS.

As an independent non-executive member for an NHS ICB, you will help to shape a long-term, viable plan for the delivery of the functions, duties, and objectives of the ICB, and for the stewardship of public money. You will bring independent oversight and constructive challenge to the priorities, plans and performance of the ICB executive team, and promote open and transparent decision-making that facilitates consensus. You will need to operate beyond traditional organisational boundaries, driving forward the vision of integration, collaboration and system-working, by forging productive relationships across local health, social care and voluntary partners.

You will have a key role in ensuring that the voice and needs of patients and communities are central to ICB discussions and decisions, so that strategies and services are inclusive and accessible to the whole population and deliver the best possible health outcomes for all.
