Non-Executive Board Members

Job Reference JAUZC
Closing Date Wednesday 06 Feb 2019

Closing Date: Wednesday 6 February, noon

Inspired by our founder, the social reformer Octavia Hill, we are a not-for-profit organisation providing thousands of people with good-quality affordable homes in inner London, mainly in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. Known for our focus on customer service and resident engagement, we currently manage around 5,000 homes and are an award winning developer building around 200 homes a year. Our aim is to build happier lives and resilient communities by focusing on people as individuals, providing them with a range of services and the opportunity to support themselves. We spend any surplus income – whether from our homes or our social enterprises – on investing in our property, in local initiatives with a social benefit or in building for the future.

This is an exciting time for Octavia as we prepare to strengthen our work in community development, care and support as well as increase our development activity. With a number of board members due to retire during 2019 we seeking to make some new non-executive appointments over the course of the year.

  • substantial, broad and relevant experience as a chartered building surveyor;
  • senior level experience, knowledge and networks across local authorities and charities involved in the delivery of community development and care and support services; or
  • experience of digital transformation within large and complex organisations delivering front-line services at scale; or
  • board-level leadership experience in the social housing sector and a strong knowledge and networks across housing management, policy, development and financing.
