In April 2015 the organisation moved from being a Trading Fund and Government Agency into a Government owned Company, providing a strong platform for commercial growth, investments and product development.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the HR Director will make an active, decisive, contribution to the strategic direction of OS. They will develop and lead people and HR strategies to positively enable the business to achieve its corporate goals and vision while minimising people-related risks. They will develop and lead on the implementation of HR & organisational change strategies to enable the business to maximise the value of its human capital and achieve its business plan.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, senior HR professional with a considerable track record of functional leadership and strategic contribution to people and organisational strategies at board level. Evidence of working successfully within a range of organisations, of comparable complexity, and in different sectors, would be advantageous, as will be an understanding of both public and private sector dynamics. They will need to be able to support our international ambition, while also having experience of working with trade unions. The successful candidate will be naturally collaborative and will act as a role model for the organisation’s values of being adventurous, incisive, restless and true.
