Over one and a half centuries since the realisation of Prince Albert’s grand vision, the Royal Albert Hall has been marking its 150th anniversary in spectacular style with star-studded celebrations. In that time, it has grown to become one of the world’s most recognised landmarks. From Cirque du Soleil to the BBC’s annual Prom season, its programme encompasses music, dance, sport, science and learning.  It is enjoyed by audiences of over 1.7 million each year. Millions more are now tuning in through broadcasts, recordings and new media channels.

The Hall’s public benefit work also includes an Education and Engagement programme and close liaison with charities and charity events.  The Hall also has a fascinating archive soon to be accessible to all. The Grade 1 listed building is also open to the public during the day through tours of the building.

The Royal Albert Hall’s Council members now seek an exceptional new Chief Executive. The successful candidate could not come to the Hall at a more exciting time. They will help facilitate the next transformation in the Hall’s history, building on world class creative pillars to diversify income streams and oversee delivery of the artistic programme.

Candidates will be consummate ambassadors with the personal stature to inspire both internal team members and the most senior external stakeholders. They will bring a track record of successful leadership at a senior level with a firm understanding of the Hall’s mission both as a charitable and cultural institution. They will be a strategic leader with financial and business planning experience, confident in leading on fundraising and passionate about furthering efforts on sustainability and digital transformation as well as the preservation of the Hall’s unique heritage.
