Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (BBMC) is a thriving social enterprise and exemplar of commercial and social objectives blended into one organisation. A £6m+ business comprising a number of manufacturing operations, it is on a strong upwards trajectory with exceptional revenue growth in the current financial year. Spread across two sites in Aylesford and Leatherhead, the Director will lead a workforce of around 110 people; 70% of whom are veterans and people with disabilities from the wider community.

BBMC is part of Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), a successful not for profit organisation with a turnover of £17m and over 350 employees. RBLI offers a range of services – including housing, care, training and employment support – to veterans as well as people outside of the Armed Forces community.

BBMC’s signage manufacturing business makes top of the range signs for blue-chip commercial clients predominantly in the road and rail sectors. Its wooden products division manufactures and refurbishes standard and bespoke wooden pallets and other wooden products. BBMC also has a successful business providing high quality print, direct mail and fulfilment services for a range of commercial, charitable and public sector organisations, and there is a fulfilment division, providing ‘pick and pack’, general assembly and other specialist construction and assembly services.

As a social enterprise, BBMC needs a Director who can also provide exciting development and employment opportunities for our beneficiaries through the medium of a highly successful manufacturing operation. The Director will also play a key role as part of the senior management team of RBLI, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organisation.
