Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Two Clinical Non-Executive Directors

Job Reference AROI
Closing Date Monday 13 Jun 2022

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (ROH) is one of the largest specialist orthopaedic units in Europe. Our Trust is a very special hospital; big enough to deliver world class services and small enough to offer exceptional patient and staff experience.  The Trust has an ambitious strategy and vision to be recognised as the leading provider of Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal treatment, both regionally and at a national level.

As we recover from the impact of the pandemic, face a significant period of elective recovery, and accelerate towards a much more integrated way of working through our partnership in the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care (ICS) System – there has never been a more important time to serve as a Non-Executive Director on our Board.

We are now looking for two Non-executive Directors to join our Board. Along with the other Directors, you will be responsible for the decisions that set our strategy, and for our successes in leading improvement of our healthcare services for our regional, national, and international patients.

The successful candidates will be strategic leaders, with Board-level experience, and the ability to listen, question intelligently and debate constructively. You will be able to support the Executive and leadership of the organisation, with a passion for seeing the ROH grow, and bring a demonstrable commitment to our values, and diversity and inclusion. For these roles, we are seeking those with clinical backgrounds and a broad understanding of quality. One of these will chair the Quality and Safety Committee. Both individuals will need to work across professional boundaries, providing clinical challenge and fresh perspectives internally. They will also play a critical outward-facing role in building the brand as a leader in musculoskeletal and orthopaedics within the wider system.

The ROH is an equal opportunities employer. We employ people of difference and are committed to growing an inclusive culture, where difference is celebrated, and people feel able to bring their whole and authentic self to work.
