Chair of Council

Job Reference KATALA
Closing Date Wednesday 27 Feb 2019

The Royal Veterinary College is looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the role of Chair of Council, after the Rt Hon Lord Curry of Kirkharle retires from post in July 2019.

The College is the UK’s largest and longest established veterinary school, with campuses in both London and Hertfordshire. Founded in 1791, we have a proud heritage and an exciting future as one of only three colleges of our kind world-wide in veterinary science.

With outstanding REF results, a Gold TEF Award, institution specific funding for excellence and a QS global ranking of 3rd for veterinary science, the RVC strives for outstanding levels of teaching, cutting edge research and the highest standards of clinical care. Significant growth across the College has led to a more diverse academic body and year-on-year improvements in NSS scores. As such the RVC holds a global leadership role across innovation in veterinary science and broader ‘One Health’ advances.

Potential candidates will demonstrate the experience, stature and leadership ability to promote and further enrich the College’s community. They will demonstrate a strong affinity with the RVC’s mission, an ability to foster collaboration, excellent ambassadorial qualities and a commitment to higher education. Personal integrity, collegiality and engagement with stakeholders at every level will be of the utmost importance.

The College particularly welcomes female applicants and those from an ethnic minority, in line with its commitment to widening access, equality and diversity.
