Independent Non-Executive Director

Job Reference HABAKE1
Closing Date Wednesday 05 Aug 2020

Sedex is a global member-owned organisation dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices across global supply chains. As one of the world’s leading organisations for helping companies manage responsible sourcing, we operate a collaborative online platform that allows our members to collect and share responsible sourcing data and identify risks in their supply chain. Our collaborative approach allows buyers and suppliers to share and exchange data, helping to better manage their social and environmental performance, and implement measures to protect pehabople, the environment and their business.
The Sedex Board is seeking to appoint a new Independent Non-Executive Director who will contribute to the organisation’s future direction as it embarks upon an ambitious new five-year strategy. As objective, impartial members of the Board, they will be responsible for making decisions which ensure the long-term success, financial security, well-being and sustainability of Sedex, and by extension its wider stakeholders.
The candidate will ideally bring experience of working at a senior strategic level in consumer-facing, technology-led businesses and of working in commercial organisations going through periods of significant growth and change. Given the genuinely global nature of Sedex, is also highly desirable that candidates bring substantial experience of working internationally. Candidates will have operated at board-level, whether executive or non-executive, and will possess excellent communications and influencing skills. Commercially minded, they will also have a strong heart for Sedex’s work to create transparency in global supply chains and make it simpler to do business that is good for everyone.
