Chief Executive Officer

Job Reference HABAKA
Closing Date Thursday 06 Sep 2018

Sedex is a global member-owned organisation dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices across global supply chains. As one of the world’s leading organisations for helping companies manage responsible sourcing, we operate a collaborative online platform that allows our members to collect and share responsible sourcing data and identify risks in their supply chain. Our collaborative approach allows buyers and suppliers to share and exchange data, helping to better manage their social and environmental performance, and implement measures to protect people, the environment and their business.

The Sedex Board is seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of a new organisational strategy and vision. The successful candidate will both lead and influence at an international level: she/he will be a highly visible leader within the organisation, and a proactive and energetic manager of stakeholder relationships. The candidate will bring a track record of successful leadership, at senior leadership team level. The individual will ideally be able to demonstrate experience of operating in organisations of different scale and be comfortable leading a relatively small organisation whilst interfacing with larger organisations in both the commercial and public sectors. It is likely that candidates will have gained executive experience in organisations where the supply chain plays a critical role to the business.

Candidates will possess an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset, combined with a strong heart for Sedex’s work and an absolute conviction about its role to create transparency within the complexity of supply chains, and make it simpler to do business that is good for everyone. A passion for responsible sourcing will be essential, though beneficial, a technical understanding or previous operational accountability for a global supply chain is not a requirement.
