Closing Date Wednesday 20 Feb 2019

“Everything we do is to improve the lives of the people and communities we serve and to promote mental health and wellbeing for all.”

South London and Maudsley NHS FT (SLaM) has an impressive past and ambitious future, playing a central role in driving new models of care, patient focus, and partnership working.  SLaM is a mental health NHS foundation trust with a dedicated and innovative staff and a diverse patient population. As well as providing core mental health services to four London boroughs, the trust provides addiction services and over 50 specialist mental health services for children and adults across the UK, including a Mother and Baby Unit, Eating Disorders, National Psychosis Unit and National Autism Unit.  The scope of SLaM is unique because it is built on three major foundations: care and treatment, science and research, and education and training.

An organisation with the excellence and reputation of South London and Maudsley NHS FT, and its pivotal position in the local communities, the region and across the country, deserves and requires an equally exceptional and skilled Chief Executive.   Reporting to the Board, the new CEO will lead the Trust to reach its full potential, providing world-leading quality services through co-production with service users and carers, strong partnerships and inspiring and inclusive engagement with staff, service-users, and the local health and care community.  The Trust puts the patient at the heart of all it does.

Championing and driving equality and diversity across the Trust, the Chief Executive will lead the Trust to be an exemplar on staff engagement amongst mental health trusts.  The next CEO will be an inspirational and collaborative leader, with a track record of delivery of high quality, complex, multi-site services.  Strategically able, he/she will also be a strong relationship-builder, able forge close partnerships with a range of stakeholders and strategic partners while maintaining a focus on internal development.  This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead an extraordinary, important organisation into the next, exciting phase of its growth.

SLAM is fully supportive of making any reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process to ensure no candidate is disadvantaged as a result of a disability or any other health condition.

We welcome, value and support people with personal lived experience of mental health challenges.
