Head

Job Reference GAUPB
Closing Date Wednesday 29 Jan 2020

In 2015, St Swithun’s Prep School moved to a brand new building which provides an inspiring environment for teaching and learning. The new School benefits from an extensive and attractive campus on the eastern fringes of Winchester, Hampshire; the 45 acre site, which it shares with the Senior School, offers spectacular views over the South Downs National Park. The School is gently selective and educates girls from 3 – 11 with a co-educational nursery.
The Council now seeks to appoint a Head with the creative skills to maximise the potential of the School’s exciting facilities, enhancing St Swithun’s reputation for educational excellence. The new Head will have the confidence and ambition to take responsibility for driving the development of the Prep School whilst working closely with the Senior School team to ensure the highest standards of education are offered across both Schools. There is a dedicated and determined leadership team with whom the new Head will work collaboratively to move the School forward.
Candidates should have senior leadership experience and be able to articulate the merits of all girls’ education. The successful candidate will have an energetic and positive approach to school management and will take an enthusiastic interest in the pupils’ many activities. S/he will have an outgoing leadership style and be able to work with a wide range of stakeholders. Most importantly, s/he will enjoy developing the talents of staff and pupils and be keen to get involved with all aspects of the St Swithun’s community.
