The Design Museum is now seeking a new Director of Development to join its senior leadership team. This pivotal role will shape and drive the Museum’s fundraising strategy, ensuring sustainable financial support for its ambitious mission and diverse programming. The post-holder will lead all aspects of fundraising, including corporate sponsorship, individual giving, trusts and foundations, membership schemes, and philanthropic campaigns. Working closely with the Director, trustees, and key stakeholders, the Director of Development will cultivate high-value donor relationships, negotiate transformative partnerships, and deliver dynamic income generation strategies aligned with the Museum’s strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience in a multifaceted organisation, with an exceptional track record in securing major philanthropic and commercial funding. They will demonstrate outstanding team management skills, deep knowledge of fundraising operations and legislation, and the ability to prioritise across complex projects and partnerships. Resilient and resourceful, the post-holder will excel at fostering relationships, influencing decisions, and championing opportunities that enhance the Museum’s global reputation.
