The James Hutton Institute is now looking to appoint a Director of Communications & Engagement. A new role, reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, this person will develop clear, confident, and strategic communications and knowledge exchange objectives, exciting colleagues, stakeholders and the public at large and adding to the sustainability of the Hutton Group. By developing and implementing both internal and external communications strategies, our Director of Communications & Engagement will refine our narrative and produce high quality content and materials.

We are looking for a dynamic, flexible individual who can work collaboratively across the Institute. A highly influential and strategic thinker, your relationship-building and networking capabilities will help you identify new opportunities, marketing or engagement initiatives that support the aims of the Group. Experience of people and strategic leadership will be essential, as will well developed stakeholder engagement skills. This is the opportunity to play a critical role within an organisation which is at the forefront of the global agenda tackling problems including impact of climate change and threats to food, biodiversity, soils, and water security.
