The Royal Parks

Chief Financial Officer

Job Reference FAFATB
Closing Date Thursday 18 Nov 2021

The Royal Parks cares for 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments across London. Our eight Royal Parks are among the most visited attractions in the UK with over 77 million visitors each year.

The Charity is going through a period of change.  Despite the short-term effects of the pandemic, the greatest impact on the way the parks are managed over the coming decades will be the way in which we deal with climate change, improve biodiversity and welcome a greater number of visitors.

We are now seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who will be a key member of our senior management team, helping drive change in the organisation and delivering and developing our new strategic objectives. Working closely with the Chief Executive, the CFO will lead on a finance transformation project, improving our finance systems and processes. The CFO will also play a significant role in evaluating our many outsourced activities and supporting the development of our commercial strategy.

A key member of our leadership team, you will be a qualified accountant, bringing substantial experience operating at Board level. You will demonstrate highly developed business planning, financial and project management skills with experience of change management. You will be an enabler and decision maker with excellent interpersonal, influencing, negotiating and communication skills and experience of negotiating complex contracts. This is very much a job for a leader with strategic skills, a collegiate style and who enjoys working collaboratively across an organisation.

Reflecting our diverse visitors, we are committed to finding a CFO who is dedicated to furthering diversity and inclusion within the charity. We actively and warmly encourage applications therefore from a broad and deep range of backgrounds and experiences.
