Chief Risk Officer

Job Reference HAAAEE
Closing Date Monday 30 Jun 2025

TWI is a globally recognised centre of excellence in engineering, technology, training, and assurance. With a proud heritage spanning over 75 years, we are trusted by leading industrial Members and stakeholders around the world for our technical authority, innovation, and impartiality. As part of our ongoing transformation and strategic evolution, we are seeking to appoint a Chief Risk Officer to join our senior team and help shape the next phase of operational resilience at TWI.

This is a critical role with responsibility for ensuring that TWI operates to the highest standards of governance, legal compliance, and risk management. Reporting to incoming CEO Caroline Gumble, the Chief Risk Officer will design, implement, and maintain robust frameworks that support regulatory alignment and protect the integrity of TWI’s operations. From leading risk assessments and compliance audits to providing strategic oversight on risk mitigation, this role will be central in safeguarding TWI’s reputation, assets, and sustainability.

The successful candidate will work closely with directors, business unit leaders, and external regulators to foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the organisation. They will also guide policy development, support third-party risk evaluation, and ensure business continuity planning remains fit for purpose. The role will require a strong grasp of regulatory environments—both UK and international—and the ability to interpret evolving legislation into actionable internal guidance.

We are looking for a seasoned compliance and risk professional, ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA), with a proven track record of operating at a senior level. You will combine strong technical expertise with practical judgement and the confidence to advise and influence senior stakeholders. Experience in complex or regulated organisations, along with the ability to manage compliance programmes and reporting frameworks, will be essential.

This is a role for someone with high integrity, sound analytical skills, and the communication abilities to lead through influence. If you are a values-driven professional with a proactive mindset and a passion for excellence, we welcome your application to help ensure TWI remains a trusted and resilient global partner.
