Trent Park

Director

Job Reference PBQUB
Closing Date Thursday 21 Nov 2024 (Now Expired)

We are looking for the inaugural Director of Trent Park Museum, a historic site recognised for its national and international significance. Trent Park, often compared to Bletchley Park, was not only a residence of famed socialite and politician Sir Philip Sassoon but also a critical intelligence hub during WWII. Captured German generals were housed here, unknowingly sharing information vital to the Allied war effort—captured by the “Secret Listeners” hidden in the basement. Now, after years of dedicated preservation efforts, Trent Park will open to the public in spring 2026.

We now seek an inspirational leader to guide this unique Museum through its final development phase, to opening and beyond. Working with a committed team of trustees and heritage experts, you will oversee museum operations, visitor experience, and commercial, including retail and a cafe. As Director, you will play a transformative role in making Trent Park a leading destination for visitors, school groups, and history enthusiasts alike, enriching public understanding of Britain’s clandestine wartime operations. If you have a vision for impactful heritage storytelling, the operational expertise to launch and sustain a major cultural site, and a passion for preserving Britain’s history, we would love to hear from you.
