Chair

Job Reference TANAMA
Closing Date Monday 15 Feb 2021

At UCLPartners we translate research and innovation into practice at scale and pace to improve the health and wellbeing of residents living in our health system and beyond. We bring together more than 40 world-leading research centres, NHS bodies, commercial organisations, local authorities and the third sector to effect change that is only possible through such collaboration and a joined-up vision for our health and care system.
Our new Chair will provide dynamic leadership to the board and wider organisation, developing an ambitious strategy to harness the system’s innovation and drive best-in-class partnership working and integrated research capability for the benefit of our patients and population. A guardian of our values, they will oversee and optimize the governance of UCLPartners to create a learning environment through which innovation is facilitated and adopted. They will be able to shape, influence and articulate the purpose and goals of UCLPartners at a regional, national and international level, and ensure we are an impactful organisation whose value is greater than the sum of our parts.
An outstanding communicator and relationship builder, the incoming Chair will be an experienced leader at board-level, capable of influencing and inspiring the confidence of UCLPartners’ key stakeholders at the highest levels. Low-ego and high EQ with well-attuned political antennae, they will be comfortable operating in a complex, ambiguous environment at a time of significant organisational and systemic change. With a natural authority and earned respect, candidates will also bring strong strategic and commercial instincts and a wide cross-sector regional and national network: they will be as credible with leaders in academia and government as they are in health care and the pharmaceuticals industry. You will bring a demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to the wider values and beliefs for which UCLPartners stand.
