The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) was named Modern University of the Year in 2019 and is the highest ranked creative specialist in the country. Based in the South East with campuses across Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham and Rochester, UCA prepares its students for employment and leadership in the creative industries through the provision of an intensive, studio-based education that requires critical creativity in an industry-standard environment. In 2017 Professor Bashir Makhoul joined as Vice-Chancellor and has seen success in raising international student numbers, building external partnerships and increasing the research profile of UCA.
UCA is now looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to succeed the current Chair of the Board of Governors as Robert Taylor comes to the end of his term. Candidates will evidence excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, and experience chairing organisations with a similar level of complexity and scale. They will demonstrate a strong affinity with UCA’s ethos and mission, as well as a commitment to higher education and the role of the creative industries. Excellent ambassadorial skills, financial acumen and knowledge, and engagement with stakeholders at every level will be of the utmost importance.
