This is a pivotal time for a new Chief Executive to lead University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL), shaping the organisation and the future of our services. There is much more work still to do, but our colleagues and our system are up for it, are you?
With an operating turnover in excess of £1bn, we provide a range of general and specialist services across a diverse population of 1.2 million to the urban and rural communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. As the largest employer in the region with over 16,000 staff, we have a crucial role to play in the social and economic well-being of our local communities. Now marks a once in a generation opportunity to upgrade the Trust’s estate as part of a wide-ranging transformation process to continue providing high quality services for our patients and local communities. In responding to COVID-19 we will continue to work closely with partners addressing health inequalities as part of a shared approach across the system. Over the last six months we have also significantly strengthened our financial systems and infrastructure, as we work to achieve financial sustainability whilst ensuring the quality and safety of services.
We are seeking a Chief Executive who will provide outstanding strategic leadership and vision during this time of critical transformation and change for the Trust. The postholder will ensure services are transformed to meet the current and emerging needs of our communities, whilst guiding the Trust towards financial sustainability. Our next Chief Executive will embody our values and lead by example in terms of equality, diversity and inclusion. Responsible for maintaining and improving the our ‘Good’ CQC rating, they will provide leadership across the system, building strong relationships with our stakeholders and developing the Trust’s reputation as a university teaching hospital of national and international renown.
Candidates will be outstanding strategic leaders with a track record of leading major change in an organisation of comparable scale and operational complexity. Respected and compassionate, you will be a committed champion of our values, including our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Adept at navigating complexity and ambiguity at the highest levels, you will be an excellent and nuanced communicator, capable of building strong and lasting relationships with our local and national stakeholders, while developing the transparency of our culture and transforming our services.
