The University of St Andrews was Scotland’s first university and is the third oldest in the English speaking world. The University is now recruiting for a new Director for the St Andrews University Museums. This is an opportunity for an outstanding museums professional with demonstrable leadership skills to help affect a step change in the ambition and position of the museums and the museum service. The post-holder will play a significant role in leading and shaping a transformation of the museums as well as taking on the responsibility for the leadership of staff and the management, care and development of the museums’ collections. This will include leadership of capital projects. Candidates will ideally bring leadership experience gained in a related context, experience of collections management, care and research and excellent communication and stakeholder management expertise.
