Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) is the largest academic department at the University of Warwick, with a total annual income of £115m. The department has over 800 people working across ten dedicated research and education centres on the Warwick campus, plus collaborative centres in seven countries. WMG is now looking to appoint a key figure within its structure, the Director of Education. A member of WMG’s leadership team, the Director of Education will lead WMG’s education programmes. Initially, they will bring together WMG’s diverse national and international activities in learning and teaching to enable new opportunities. They will lead WMG’s activity in driving teaching excellence and increase the visible pedagogical contribution of WMG.  They will develop and sustain a strong education portfolio and position, typically this comprises 50% of WMG’s activities.

Good candidates will bring extensive experience of successful leadership and management in higher education. S/he will evidence a successful track record in designing and delivering educational courses relevant to or in conjunction with industry partners, and ideally bring experience of developing educational research and scholarship. The new Director will bring well-developed interpersonal skills, an ability to persuade and influence internally and externally, and the capacity to build strong relationships with customers.
