Wrekin Prep (formerly Old Hall Prep School)

Head

Job Reference TBSNA
Closing Date Monday 24 Feb 2025 (Now Expired)

The Governors and Head of Wrekin Old Hall Trust encourage applications for this Headship from child-centred, senior leaders with expertise in the education of children aged 4 to 11. They will be joining a thriving and ambitious school community, which currently comprises Wrekin College and Old Hall Prep, which are both well-established and longstanding institutions in their own right. In September, the Prep School will be rebranded as Wrekin Prep and the new Head will continue the ongoing development of a strong and close working relationship between the Prep, the Senior School and the Sixth Form, supported by the Governors of Wrekin Old Hall Trust and the Head of the College.

The Prep School stands apart from the Senior School, occupying a large site comprising a number of purpose-built and modern facilities. It also benefits from the co-location on a stunning and extensive campus, with Wrekin College, enabling the prep school pupils to access a wide range of additional facilities, such as a swimming pool, performing arts centre, chapel and astroturfs. It is a non-selective, day school and educates approximately 220 girls and boys.

The next Head will work collaboratively with others to build on the School’s strong reputation and success, identifying and realising new opportunities, whilst also ensuring healthy pupil recruitment. The ambition is to ensure the School moves forward as a vibrant educational environment, building on recent changes and developments made under the current Head’s leadership. Candidates must be excited by the chance to lead a school which focuses on enabling each child to fulfil their potential, and one where there is a strong family feel, a real warmth and huge strength of community. They will also understand the strategic ambition around bringing the two schools more closely together and see the critical role that the Prep School plays in preparing pupils for the future as they start their Wrekin journey.
