World Mental Health Day (10 October) is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, but each year, 10 October is set aside as a day for everyone to show their support for better mental health and to encourage individuals to reflect on how well we manage our personal mental wellbeing.
Saxton Bampfylde is committed to improving conversations around mental health in the workplace. Our aim is to create an environment wherein all members of our community can grow to their fullest extent emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
We are always working to improve and refine the support available to our partners, and this World Mental Health Day has given us opportunity to host a number of additional events to help encourage partners to focus on the mental wellbeing both of themselves and those they work with.
Alongside our existing support programmes, we will be hosting a ‘Tea and Talk’ session for colleagues, facilitating mental health awareness training with support from leading charity, Mind, and putting on sessions with a physiotherapist to complement our ongoing drop-in yoga session and help partners to recognise the link between physical and mental health.
To mark World Mental Health Awareness Day, we welcome Sara Cremer, Senior Vice President of Content at WGSN and advocate for mental well-being in the workplace, to share her thoughts on how employers can make tangible investments in prioritising mental health in their organisations. She talks openly and honestly about her own experiences with depression and anxiety, and shares some of the tools that can help achieve a good balance between an individual’s career and their personal life.
We are also delighted to announce the launch of the new REACH mentoring programme in partnership with the Civil Service. Through this, Saxton Bampfylde will be matching Civil Service employees who have physical and non-physical disabilities with executive level leaders to help individuals maximise their career potential.
In support of #WorldMentalHealthDay on 10th October, all Partners at Saxton Bampfylde will wear a green ribbon, an international symbol of mental health awareness to help raise awareness.
