University governance is about stewardship, strategy and long-term value

Colleagues across our London, Guildford and Edinburgh offices marked Employee Ownership Day (EO Day), gathering to celebrate what it means to be an employee-owned business and the people who make it one.
We became an employee-owned business in 2014. We chose to become employee-owned because it was the best way to preserve the values, culture and purpose that had always defined the firm. Everyone at Saxton Bampfylde is a partner and a beneficiary of the trust. We collectively own the company, and with that comes a genuine responsibility to take an interest in its performance, to play an active role in its success, and to live out its values.
This year carries particular significance. In September, Saxton Bampfylde turns 40. We have been employee-owned for twelve of those years.
EO Day, celebrated on 20th June 2026 and now in its fourteenth year as a national celebration, exists to champion the reach and impact of employee ownership across the UK. This year’s campaign invites employee-owned businesses to showcase how they are owning their role in contributing to the growth and impact of the sector. We are proud to be part of that.
