Saxton Bampfylde celebrates forty years

Founded in 1986. Still guided by the same principles.

Forty years ago on September 8th, Anthony Saxton and Stephen Bampfylde founded our firm.

We started with four people and today we’re over ninety; employee-owned, working with clients across the UK and globally. We’ve advised on thousands of searches across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors working with leading national and international clients.

Sectors may have changed, and while the clients we work with look different from like they did in 1986, we have always remained guided by the same principles that Anthony and Stephen started with: doing search right first time and putting relationships before transactions.

The appointments we’ve been proudest of were rarely the obvious ones. Finding the right leader takes listening closely and understanding what an organisation really needs. Forty years of that understanding has shaped organisations that look different today because of who leads them.

And none of this happens without the people, the partners who’ve helped to build our firm. All of them are why our clients come back.

We’re so proud to be celebrating this milestone, with events and insights through the year, and of course sharing some of our best stories along the way. But this is just the start of our story. We’ve got so much more to do.

To every client who has trusted us with an appointment, every candidate who has trusted us with their career, and everyone who has worked to build our firm – thank you. What we have created is as much yours as ours.
