In the midst of a deepening housing crisis, with over a million people on housing lists, huge obstacles for first time buyers to get their foot on the housing ladder, and homelessness on the rise, the role of the housing association has never been more important or more necessary.
As one of the largest providers of social housing in the country – with a turnover of £400m, and 57,000 homes across London, the South East, East Midlands and East of England – Metropolitan Thames Valley (MTVH) is playing a critical role in meeting significant societal challenges. We are more than a provider of bricks and mortar but an anchor in communities, and we deliver care and support to customers with a wide range of needs.
Formed from the merger of Metropolitan and Thames Valley in 2018, we are proud of where we have come from as well as the modern and bold approach we take today. We are dedicated to providing homes at different levels of affordability, including social and affordable rents and shared ownership delivered through our So Resi brand https://soresi.co.uk/. We are also a major developer of new homes and we offer housing for market sale and market rent; our innovative Fizzy Living brand was set up to disrupt the private rented sector, make a change and set a new rental standard. We have established our name as a bold actor in the social housing space and we have ambitious plans for the future.
Our new Board Member will join us at an exciting time and will add particular value to the critical work we are doing to create a customer-centric organization, with integrated and easy to use systems, and an approach which ensures our customers and service users feel valued and heard, and receive an outstanding level of service.
We would welcome applications for this role from people with senior-level experience of shaping multi-channel customer-service operations and creating a customer-centric approach in large-scale B2C/business-to-consumer organisations. Our new board member will bring in-depth knowledge of delivering digital services to customers, experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders, and an understanding of governance issues.
We are proudly committed to equality and diversity as a core part of what we do and we would welcome applications for this role from the broadest possible range of people.
