Closing Date Monday 10 Jan 2022 (Now Expired)

Closing date: 9am on 10th January 2022

Salary: circa. £120,000 per annum

Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.

NCVO is the membership community for charities and voluntary organisations. Together we champion voluntary action, the compassionate people who make a daily difference, supporting the collective impact made across the country. With our members at the heart of everything we do, we unite to champion the remarkable role of charities and volunteers by speaking up and supporting each other to make a bigger difference. For stronger communities. For everyone.

After a period with an interim CEO, we are now seeking to appoint a permanent leader for our organisation. They will be a powerful communicator both in listening to our members and other charities, and in influencing stakeholders including government and the media.  Their natural way of working will be to seek to collaborate and partner with others to achieve meaningful and long-lasting outcomes which benefit voluntary organisations, volunteering, and wider society.

Our leadership team are working to embed our new culture and ways of working. Driven by our values of being open, collaborative, inclusive and ambitious, this will underpin how NCVO approaches everything it does, and culture change sits at the heart of our new strategy.

We are looking for a leader who can truly inspire and influence, who lives our values and can lead our culture change as we continue to support charities and volunteers to make a bigger difference.

NCVO is fully committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, both in our organisation and in the wider voluntary sector. We want this to be reflected in the diversity of the people who work for us and we welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and identities. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates. As part of our commitment to employing disabled people, all disabled candidates who meet the minimum requirement for all competencies on the person specification will be guaranteed an interview.

If you have access needs or require reasonable adjustments as part of the recruitment process, please let us know.

We have a flexible working policy at NCVO, but as CEO, it is important that there is regular visibility in our London office for at least two days per week. Travel around the UK will also be required regularly.  We will be happy to discuss flexible ways of working including job share opportunities.

We are located a short walk from London King’s Cross station in a modern accessible building, overlooking Regent’s canal.

Interviews will take place initially with Saxton Bampfylde and then shortlisted candidates will be interviewed during February 2022.

Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to NCVO on this appointment. For further information about the role, including details about how to apply, please visit www.saxbam.com/appointments using reference UATAGA. Alternatively telephone +44 (0)20 7227 0880 (during office hours). Applications should be received by 9am on 10th January 2022.
