Humility and curiosity tell you far more about a leader than confidence alone. I pay close attention to how people reflect on their impact, especially when they think no one is watching.”

Vidhu Sood-Nicholls Consultant

Vidhu joined Saxton Bampfylde after 17 years working across the corporate and charity sectors, beginning her career as a teacher in South London through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme. This experience gives her a grounded understanding of leadership on the frontline and the systems that support it.

Vidhu works across organisations that are purpose driven, particularly those where improving the lives of young people is a key part of their work. She leads the firm’s work with Multi-Academy Trusts; those focussed on social impact and business where purpose and profit matter in equal measure. Her work spans both executive and non-executive appointments, advising boards on leadership that can deliver long-term impact.

Vidhu has been twice elected to the firm’s Trustee Board, where she represents the voice of the Partnership and contributes to the strategic direction of the firm. She also serves as Consultant Team Leader, supporting the development of the 30-strong consulting team.

She is drawn to purpose-led clients who value partnership and openness. For Vidhu, successful appointments come from honest dialogue, mutual trust, and a shared commitment to finding leaders who will truly fit the organisation’s mission and culture.

Vidhu brings first-hand governance experience as a trustee of Teach First, Hopscotch Women’s Centre, and currently The Wren Project. She holds a Law degree from the University of Bristol and an MSc in International Development from the University of Bath.
