Wrekin College appoints new Head of School

Wrekin College will welcome Steve Green as its new Headmaster from September 2026.

Wrekin College has announced the appointment of Steve Green as its new Headmaster, joining from September 2026.

Steve is currently Head of the Senior School at Queen’s College Taunton, having built an extensive leadership career across both the maintained and independent sectors since 2004. Previous roles include Head at Axe Valley Academy in Devon and Head of Sixth Form at The Kings of Wessex Academy.

Steve said: “I am honoured to be joining Wrekin College and feel very privileged to have the opportunity to lead such a distinctive and ambitious school. I was immediately struck by the warmth of the community, the wonderful facilities and the strong sense of shared purpose among staff and pupils.”

Dr Emma Crawford, Chair of Governors, added: “Steve brings a wealth of experience, thoughtful leadership and a genuine commitment to the all-round development of young people. We are confident he will lead Wrekin with energy and clarity of purpose.”

Steve will be joined at Wrekin by his wife Kate and their two teenage children.
