The governors of St Aloysius’ College have announced that Patrick Doyle has been appointed as Head of the College. He will take up his post at the beginning of the new academic year or earlier if that is possible.
Married with three children, Mr Doyle was educated at Worth School, which is an independent Catholic and Benedictine HMC school. He read French and Russian at Leeds University and has an MA in Catholic School Leadership from St Mary’s University. As a young man, Mr Doyle tried his vocation as a Jesuit and was a novice for a short period.
His first teaching appointment was at Wimbledon College, the Jesuit school in south London, and he has been an Assistant Head at a large London school and Deputy Head at two schools: Worth, where he was responsible for pastoral care, and St John the Baptist School in Woking, an outstanding Catholic school. Here his responsibilities were academic, and he worked closely with the Head of the school, Dame Ani Magill. Mr Doyle was subsequently appointed Head of All Hallows School in Farnham, stepping down after three years in post to return to work with Dame Ani and the newly established Catholic Academy Trust in Surrey which runs several highly successful schools.
In a statement Mr Doyle said:
“I am absolutely delighted to be taking up the Headship at St Aloysius later this year. It is a wonderful school with so much going for it and one of the very best things is its happy and enthusiastic young people. I am looking forward to working with the staff, parents, carers, pupils, governors, and the wider community, in particular former pupils, to help the school continue to flourish.”
