Hannah Parham to become Director of the Landmark Trust

Hannah Parham succeeds Dr Anna Keay OBE, who steps down after 14 years to write the official biography of Queen Elizabeth II

Saxton Bampfylde are pleased to have supported the appointment of Hannah Parham FSA as Director of the Landmark Trust. She will join in January 2027, succeeding Dr Anna Keay OBE, who steps down after 14 years to write the official biography of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Hannah is currently Head of Places Regeneration for London and the South-East at Historic England, a role she has held since 2023, leading its work on heritage at risk, grants and blue plaques. Before that, she held senior roles at the conservation architects Donald Insall Associates and at the Churches Conservation Trust.

She began her career as a listing inspector at English Heritage, having studied history at Exeter College, Oxford and history of art at the Courtauld Institute of Art. She has also advised the Victorian Society and the National Trust, and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.

Hannah said:

“The Landmark Trust has a simple, twofold purpose: to rescue historic buildings and to make them available for people to enjoy as holiday accommodation. To achieve this, it calls on the skills and dedication of a remarkable staff team; of craftspeople, contractors, consultants and designers; of volunteers, trustees, funders, Friends and Patrons. I am looking forward to working with all who enable Landmark to flourish and who, like me, cherish Landmark for its unique role in heritage conservation. Dr Anna Keay’s leadership of the Landmark Trust over the last 14 years has been exceptional. I am honoured and delighted that the Board of Trustees have appointed me to succeed her as Director.”

Chair of the Landmark Trust, Alan Leibowitz, added:

“The Trustees and I are delighted to welcome Hannah Parham as the next Director of the Landmark Trust. Hannah combines extensive expertise in historic buildings with commercial flair and an outstanding gift for bringing heritage to life. She cares deeply about Landmark’s mission, and we look forward to working with her as we navigate a changing landscape, rescue exceptional buildings at risk such as Mavisbank and share our extraordinary buildings with ever more visitors and supporters. We are also enormously grateful to Anna Keay, who has been a transformational Director and leaves a remarkable legacy. We wish her every success with her important new work.”
