Leading executive search firm Saxton Bampfylde has welcomed Emma Hattersley to the consulting team as Partner and Co-Head of the Schools Practice. As outgoing Head of Godolphin School Emma brings years of educational leadership and Governor experience to the Saxton Bampfylde Schools and Education teams. She will work alongside existing practice Co-Head Charlotte Penn.
Emma has worked across a wide range of educational settings including as Head at Godolphin School since 2014 and previously as Deputy Head at Sherborne Girls’ School for four years. She is currently Governor at Fairley House in London and Port Regis in Dorset. In addition to this, Emma has worked with the Headmaster and Headmistresses Conference and been Chair of the Inspections Committee, as well as being on the ISI Educational Forum.
“The opportunity to transition from Education to Executive Search with a firm like Saxton Bampfylde is such an exciting move for me. I believe that with my sector-specific knowledge and wide-ranging operational experience I will be in a strong position to advise a range of organisations. The importance of up-to-date knowledge of the sector as a whole and the direction of travel, particularly in these times of great change, is really critical. I am very committed to keeping up that knowledge and believe that this will also benefit clients coming to us.”
“As I settle into the team at Saxton Bampfylde I have been really struck by the balance of the company’s specialist knowledge and its purposeful commitment to achieving the absolute best with each appointment – both for the institution and for the individual.”
“The sector must attract and retain valuable teachers and leaders at all levels of the profession. We, as a sector, need to cast our net more widely – there are lots of fantastic international schools and some of those teachers want to return to the UK. It would be great if we could increase the diversity of the applicant pool and encourage more women to step up too. I see that as a real opportunity at Saxton Bampfylde to grow and support the widening and deepening of this pool.”
Stephen Bampfylde, Founding Partner and Chair commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Emma – her knowledge, insight and experience provide great synergies across our team and enhance our specialist offering. Emma is a proven leader and educationalist and the combination of that deep experience combined with Charlotte’s strong executive search pedigree creates a very valuable proposition for our existing and future clients.”
Incorporated as an employee-owned business in 2014, each member of the Saxton Bampfylde team is a Partner. The business is also a founding firm in Panorama with over 400 leadership experts across a global community working together to promote a diverse perspective of leadership, sharing expertise and experience to bring every client the very best results.
